I'm so much more than Status Quo.

veecubb:

So I started writing a fanfic for my friend Moa. I was gonna write a smutty one shot but I dunno why but it turned out quite fluffy and I’m thinking of making it an ongoing thing instead. Maybe smut will turn up later… meh

Its Sebastion/Moa and it’s kinda AU. I don’t read much Glee fanfic to know what its like so meh, if its crap sorry!

And I hope you like it Moa!

(Also, I don’t know why but the title to my blog completely goes with what this fanfic is. Its weird cos I love the lyric and have been thinking about getting it as a tattoo for a while so its special okay? lol)

“The City Winks a Sleepless Eye”

Chapter One

It was an unusually hot day in London. It was October and the autumn leaves blew around the city as the winds spread the “mini-heatwave” happening around the country. Moa was taking a break from her studies, taking a leisurely walk in the streets of London, breathing in the sights that she had grown so accustomed to even though she had only been living there for a month. Moa loved the UK. Coming from Sweden, where she always felt she could never be truly free and live out her dreams, she finally was living in a place where she felt she could be whoever she wanted to be. Coming to London had been the best decision in her life. To be around friends she had made that loved her as the person she truly was; to have the opportunity to study music, not just an art form, but to help herself understand why she loved it so much; to live in one of the greatest places in the world and become one with the culture that was so diverse and accepting. How could she resist this city? She smiled at happy thoughts as she strolled, leaves following her steps playfully.

As he stepped out into the warm air, he could not help but grin at how amazing his life had become. A lot had changed for him in the last year, his life at Dalton Academy had made him realise the type of person he wanted to be. He thought back to how he used to be and shuddered. He was a monster. Making people’s lives hell for the fun of it. Taking advantage of the money his father made and enforcing the same power in himself for the want of fear and respect. His infatuation with Blaine is what made him turn around. He tried his usual stuff. He tried to isolate him, make his boyfriend feel unworthy of someone so amazing as Blaine. He didn’t want to see that Kurt was exactly what Blaine needed: someone who was brave, proud and loyal. Sebastian made the mistake of being a douche. Now that he had left school behind him and decided to go to a university in London instead of staying in the USA to go to college, he felt like he could reinvent himself and be the better person he wanted to be.

——

Sebastian was sitting in the park nearby his apartment. It was Saturday and he was glad to not have to attend any lectures or have a study session. This day he set aside for himself to just relax and take in the London atmosphere. This city was unlike any other. He never knew a place to be so busy yet so calm at the same time. Whenever he sat on this bench in this park, he almost forgot that he was in one of the busiest cities in the world. As he sat there with his sketchpad on his lap, he noticed someone. At first, he thought it was the trick of the autumn sunshine but he followed it and saw that it was real. Someone was strolling across the park, and the leaves blew around them as if they were dancing in happiness. He could not help but stare. Hastily, he turned the page on his sketchbook and began to draw. The person was far away, he couldn’t tell their facial expression, but he can tell in the way they walked that nothing was wrong, that life was content and blissful. It was almost like he could see the way he felt in corporeal form. He tried his hardest to convey it in his sketch, all the while, not realising that this person was coming closer. As he sketched he began to understand the person’s facial expressions more, detailing their face. He was surprised to see that the person was a woman. He had never been interested in women and yet this woman was the most interesting thing he’d seen and he had not even spoken to them. As she approached, he had already decided that he had to make her part of his life. He hadn’t made a lot of friends yet, but this person looked like someone worth starting a friendship.

“Hi,” was all he could manage to say. What do you say to a stranger in the park? Do you come here often? I’ve just done a drawing of you, please be my friend?

The woman stopped. A split second of surprise on her face was instantly replaced with a smile, his drawing of her suddenly seemed unworthy to him.

“Hello,” she replied.

He noticed a slight accent and was even more intrigued. He internally struggled to find words that can explain what he wanted from this conversation but amazingly, he could not find them.

“Are you okay?” She asked, concern now replacing the smile. “You look confused.”

“I’m fine.” He said hastily. No! He sounded so rude! “I mean, I’m good. I just, I noticed you, and I wanted to say hello, and now I don’t really know what to say.” – and now he sounded like a stalker. He put his head in his hand. Inwardly kicking himself for being so inarticulate.

He sighed deeply to try to recompose himself. He held out his hand and said, “Let’s start over. Hi, I’m Sebastian”

The woman looked at the man bemused. She put her hand in his and said, “Hello. I’m Moa, and you’re very handsome.”

He blushed. He was in trouble. Never before had someone had so much effect on him. And he had only been talking to her for two minutes. If talking is even what you can describe what he was doing.

“Thank you,” he replied. “Are you going anywhere?”

“Not really, I’m just seeing where the wind takes me.”

He beamed. He definitely was in trouble. He always thought he was homosexual. He used to laugh at people saying they were bisexual. He called them, ‘greedy’. And here he was, certain that he had just fallen in love with a woman.

“Fancy having a coffee? I don’t know many places around here that do one as good as this one place back home, but I’m sure we can find one.”

She looked at him for a few seconds. Registering what he was saying. He was asking her out.

She smiled again. “Sure.” she said. She was aware that her hand was still in his. “I know somewhere.”
